Summit Animal Health was founded in 2018 to elevate animal wellness through natural, science-backed solutions.
The company’s roots trace to Dr. Marvin Hausman, who developed an ultra-pure form of chondroitin 4-sulfate (C4S) with exceptional anti-inflammatory properties for corneal transplant surgeries. To explore this potential, Dr. Hausman collaborated with a legendary equine orthopedic surgeon, who began applying the compound in equine joints at major facilities, including Los Alamitos racetrack. The results were groundbreaking - showing rapid improvement in comfort, mobility, and recovery in performance horses.
Around this time, Dr. Heather Farmer DVM, was introduced to Dr. Hausman and his work with chondroitin 4-sulfate. Hearing the success stories, Dr. Farmer joined the effort after using the early formulation on her own dog, Ultra, who went from struggling to stand to running behind the golf cart within days.
What began with one innovative formula became the driving force of our line of animal wellness supplements. Every product is guided by veterinary science, clinical insight, and a simple rule: if it is not the best available, we don’t make it.
