Lauren Barwick

Lauren Barwick is one of Canada’s most decorated equestrian athletes, a Paralympic gold and silver medalist, and a respected 4-Star Parelli Professional. Her journey is one of resilience and determination. In 2000, a barn accident left her paralyzed from the waist down, but within two years she returned to riding and quickly rose to the top of international para-dressage.

Competing in Grade II Para-Dressage, Lauren represented Team Canada at four consecutive Paralympic Games: Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, London 2012, and Rio 2016. Her career highlight came in 2008 in Beijing, where she won Individual Gold and Silver medals, cementing her place among the sport’s elite. She has also represented Canada at multiple FEI World Equestrian Games and international championships.

Beyond competition, Lauren is a world-class clinician and trainer, known for blending natural horsemanship with high-performance dressage. She travels internationally to teach riders of all abilities and continues to mentor para-equestrians aiming for the world stage.
