Cade McCutcheon

NRHA $3M Dollar Rider & Open Futurity Champion

Cade McCutcheon
Summit has made a huge difference in all of my futurity horses. It helps them stay happy and healthy during those long shows.

Cade McCutcheon was just 18 when he was named to the 2018 U.S. Reining Squad for the WEG. That made him the youngest ever U.S. athlete to represent reining at the competition. At age 19 Cade became the youngest Equi-Stat $1 Million Rider.  In March of 2020, McCutcheon finished third at the USEF Selection Trial and WEG Reining Test Event.  He has been in the saddle all his life winning his first check at age 7. A member of a family with a long line of prominent reiners, reining is in his blood. Made special appearance on the TV show Yellowstone. He is the son of NRHA million dollar riders Tom and Mandy McCutcheon and the grandson of NRHA multi-million dollar rider/NRHA Hall of Fame member Tim McQuay and NRHA Hall of Fame member Collen McQuay.

Cade McCutcheon’s Background and Early Career

Cade made history as the youngest NRHA Open Futurity Champion, winning aboard Super Marioo. That same season he surpassed $1 million in NRHA earnings at only 19 years old. By 2024, he crossed the $3 million milestone, with major wins at the NRHA Derby and as co-champion of the inaugural Run for a Million in 2019.

Cade is the son of Tom and Mandy McCutcheon and the grandson of Tim and Colleen McQuay, all NRHA Hall of Famers or Million Dollar Riders. Raised at Tom McCutcheon Reining Horses in Texas, Cade earned his first competition check at age seven and has continued the family legacy of excellence with remarkable consistency.

As a professional rider and trainer, "Summit is a non-negotiable in my program," says Cade. "From the long hauls to the pressure of the show pen, these products ensure my horses stay mobile and ready to work." By integrating Summit’s advanced mobility formulas, Cade maintains the competitive edge required for the Run For A Million and the NRHA Derby. When preparing for major events like the NRHA Futurity, many professionals look for the best horse joint injections to support recovery. Cade chooses Summit’s IM formula for its ability to support the synovial fluid and reduce the wear-and-tear of a heavy show season.
