Rodrigo Pessoa

I think Summit is highly beneficial for the horses who have been in the sport for a number of years. I also give it to the younger horses as a preventative and to help them feel better. We give Summit to our entire barn.

Rodrigo Pessoa is one of the most decorated riders in international show jumping, with more than 70 Grand Prix victories and a career spanning over three decades. He has represented Brazil at seven Olympic Games, earning Team Bronze in 1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney and Individual Gold at the 2004 Athens Olympics aboard the legendary Baloubet du Rouet.

In 1998, Rodrigo became the youngest rider ever to win the World Equestrian Games Individual Gold in Rome. With Baloubet du Rouet, he also captured three consecutive FEI World Cup Finals titles (1998, 1999, 2000), a record that still stands. He has been ranked World No. 1 and collected multiple medals at the Pan American Games, including Team Gold and Individual Silver in 2007 Rio de Janeiro.

From 2017 to 2019, Rodrigo served as team manager for the Irish Show Jumping Team, leading them to the European Championship title in 2017 in Gothenburg and securing Olympic qualification for Tokyo 2020. Today, he competes internationally while operating Amethyst Equestrian with his wife, Alexa, in New York and Florida.
