At Danny & Ron’s Rescue, every dog has a story. For some, the rescue is a stop along the way to a forever family. For others, like Pucca, it becomes home.
Nearly 14 years old, Pucca has been with Danny & Ron’s Rescue for years and is now one of their beloved sanctuary residents. She’s found exactly where she wants to be—spending her days with the rescue team and even accompanying them to the office.
When the Stairs Became a Struggle
As Pucca got older, the team began noticing changes in her mobility.
She was struggling with her joints, and something that had once been routine—going up and down the stairs—was becoming increasingly difficult. The team tried multiple products to support her, but eventually Pucca reached the point where she needed to be picked up and carried on the stairs.
Around that time, the rescue began incorporating Summit Animal Health into Pucca’s routine.
The team says they started noticing improvement after her initial doses, but it was over the following couple of weeks that they saw a significant change.
“By the second week after those first four initial doses, it was a game changer.”
Back to Running Up the Stairs
Today, those same stairs tell a very different story.
Pucca spends her days in the office, and when it’s time to head upstairs, she no longer waits to be carried.
“As soon as we open the door, I take her leash off and she just runs right up.”
For a senior sanctuary dog like Pucca, those everyday moments can mean so much. Seeing her comfortably tackle the stairs again means more time doing what she loves and enjoying life alongside the people who have become her family.
